- Don't be an Asshole. - We're here to have fun, but never at the expense of everyone around us.
- Ride Safe. - Know your line, communicate with other riders, mark hazards, and follow the rules of the road.
- Tolerance. - Yeah, alcohol and pain tolerance are good things to have, but tolerance of those who are not like you is key. This should fall under "Don't be an Asshole." but explicitly, being an asshole about gender, race, religion, sexuality, or disability is strictly forbidden. If another person expresses discomfort with your dialogue or behavior regarding these subjects, you will respect that person's right to be overly-sensitive. That said, it's totally okay to be a prick about music, art, and movies.
- Race for the Check. - In a group setting, the person who picks-up the group tab automatically wins the next argument / decision. Complain and bitch all you want, that person gets the say. This does not apply to Lost Boy Codes and any ruling shall not be in effect for more than 24 hours.
- Harden the Fuck Up. - We play in Nature and She plays us. Gird your loins, drop your chin, and take your turn in the front.
- No GPS. - Listen, the point isn't necessarily to get lost, it's to have the freedom to get lost. Listening to your Garmin beep at you, telling you to make a left turn in 30 feet isn't where it's at. Map, compass, sextant, astrolabe are all acceptable means of navigation. So is dead reckoning or just asking for directions. But no GPS.
- Speak up. - Yes, the idea is to have a supportive and adventurous group, but the fact is we're also a bunch of nerdy introverts who seemingly never run out of dick jokes. Chances are, we're going to mortally insult you or something important to you at some point. Before things get all bent out of shape, speak up. Just tell us you don't appreciate us laughing at your stupid Van Halen tattoo. Your tattoo is still going to be hell-o-stupid, but at least you won't have to bear with us going on about it. Similarly, if you're gassed and can't pull or need to stop, let us know. We aren't here to kill you.
The Code
This isn't fucking Peter Pan and Neverland. If you don't like rules, go live in a shack and hunt squirrels for the rest of your life.
